I've always noticed the details other people tend to skip past: the proportion of a silhouette, the meaning behind a symbol, the one object that makes a room finally feel balanced. That instinct took me to FIT in New York and Polimoda in Florence, Italy, to study fashion design. From there, I began working between New York and Europe, contributing to Barami and Demetrios Bridal, apprenticing with European designers Mauro Taliani and Pierre Gerrudi, and presenting a collection to Florence's aristocratic Corsini family.

When I returned to the U.S., I moved into film and television, working in wardrobe for productions with NBC, HBO and Disney, including nine seasons with NBC's The Biggest Loser. At the same time, I continued designing jewelry, which eventually grew into Jorie Breonn, the brand I've spent more than a decade designing and creatively directing.

Through all of it, one thing has stayed constant: I love designing worlds.

Sometimes that world is a room. Sometimes it's a photograph, a collection or the story surrounding a piece of jewelry. I notice the line of a chair the way I notice the cut of a jacket. I'm fascinated by how color, texture, scale, light, objects and styling can come together and completely change the way something feels.

That's the part I love most: bringing all of those details together until they stop feeling like individual choices and become an experience. Something that draws you in, makes you feel something and, even if you can't quite explain why, makes you want to stay awhile.
